16 November – A first trip to Korks Wine Bar in Otley, accompanied by the GLW and Barry to see Ian McNabb. We walk through Korks to their back room. It’s like the Tardis! Hard to believe that there are 100 people in the room.
Ian is performing solo and plays a varied selection from both The Icicle Works and his solo career, including tracks from his most recent, award-winning album Little Episodes. Highlights of the show for me are Hollow Horse, Love is A Wonderful Colour, Fire Inside My Soul and Great Dreams Of Heaven.
Another highlight of the show is Ian’s interaction with the audience and his between song chat, particularly his comments about Mike Peters of The Alarm.
